4 Refreshing Post Workout Snacks

After a workout it is important to eat the right stuff to rebuild your muscles and refuel your body! Here are 4 refreshing post workout snacks to whip up!

 

 

Blue Berry Banana Shake 

3 large bananas, frozen

2 cups blueberries, frozen

2 cups 2% milk, divided

2 tablespoons good honey

 

In a blender process bananas until they break down to pea size pieces of frozen banana, add 1 cup milk and blend until combined.  You may need to scrape down a few times.  Add blueberries and remaining 1 cup of milk and process until thick and creamy.  Add honey and spin it a few times to combine.

Peanut Butter & Coconut and Granola Bars

Ingredients:

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup dried fruit (I used a mixture of golden raisins and dried cranberries)
2 tablespoons agave nectar (or honey)
2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce (or use all agave or honey)
1/4 cup peanut butter (or nut butter of your choice)

2 tablespoons coconut oil

1/3 cup shredded coconut

1 tablespoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

2 tablespoons chia seeds or flax seeds

 

Directions: 

Place all ingredients in a medium bowl and stir until mixture is well-combined. Line a 9 x 5 loaf pan with wax paper or foil and firmly press oat mixture into the bottom of the pan. Freeze for at least 2 hours or until ready to cut. Cut into 6 bars and individually wrap and store in freezer.

Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Smoothie

Ingredients 

1/2 cup frozen strawberries 

1/2 cup frozen banana 

1 scoop protein powder (strawberry protein is delicious in the is recipe)

1/4 cup strawberry Greek yogurt

1 teaspoon sugar free pudding mix

2 tablespoon graham cracker crumbs (1 tablespoon into smoothie, 1 tablespoon sprinkled on top)

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

 

Instructions 

Place all of the ingredients into a blender, blend until smooth and top with graham cracker crumbs!

Cookie Dough Greek Yogurt

Ingredients:

1 small container of plain Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon nut butter (I used peanut butter)

1 tablespoon sweetener (like maple syrup or honey)

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

pinch of sea salt

1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips 

 

Directions

Combine the Greek Yogurt with the nut butter, sweetener, vanilla and sea salt. Mix until smooth.

Top with Mini Chocolate chips. Enjoy!
